Our aim is to prevent cancer, promote coping and provide support for people with cancer and their loved ones.
We promote health
40% of cancers could be prevented with the right lifestyle choices. We seek to influence social structures so that as many types of cancer as possible can be prevented and people are easily able to make sensible decisions regarding their own health.

We promote cancer research
We support cancer research in order to find new and better treatments. We also conduct research in our research institute at the Finnish Cancer Registry on the causes and risk factors of cancer – and the possibilities of finding cancer earlier, for example through screening.

Find out about the research at the Finnish Cancer Registry
Every year, more than a hundred researchers or research groups work with the support of the Cancer Foundation to find new solutions for cancer diagnostics, prevention and treatment.
We influence decision-making
The CSF is involved in cooperation networks, where we try to influence cancer care and the way cancer patients are supported in Finland.
We keep in touch with decision-makers and influence decision-making. Political decisions can affect, for example, the availability and price of alcohol and tobacco products. In turn, they have a major impact on how much tobacco or alcohol is consumed.
The services of cancer organizations are intended for everyone who is thinking about issues related to cancer.
