The Cancer Society’s Social Committee assists cancer patients who are in financial difficulties. Cancer patients can apply for assistance through a social worker at the cancer hospital they attend.
The Cancer Foundation’s Children’s Cancer Fund issues allowances to the families of children with cancer. Families can apply for the grant through the social workers at hospital cancer departments.
Also, regional cancer associations disburse allowances and daily care allowances to their members.

The helpline is available at 0800 19414. The nurse answers the phone on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The service is free of charge.
